Oversized & Relaxed Fits: What’s Selling in 2026

The slim, lightweight tee is no longer the default. Heavyweight, oversized and relaxed-fit garments have taken over — here’s why, and how to pick the right blanks.

Why oversized is winning

Streetwear has gone mainstream, and shoppers want comfort and a laid-back silhouette. Relaxed and oversized fits also have broad unisex appeal, so one product suits more customers.

Heavyweight feels premium

Fabric weight is the easiest way to signal quality. Garments around 240gsm and above feel substantial in the hand, drape better and justify a higher price than a thin 140gsm tee.

Best blanks to reach for

For that premium, of-the-moment feel, look to garment-dyed heavyweights like Comfort Colors, structured heavy tees from AS Colour, and relaxed organic styles from Stanley/Stella. Bella+Canvas offers a softer retail-style drape.

Design for the fit

Oversized garments give you more canvas — larger centre-chest and full-back prints look great, and designs can sit a little lower than on a fitted tee. Check placement on the actual product template before you publish.

Tip: list the garment weight (gsm) and a “relaxed/oversized fit” note on your product page — it sets expectations and reads as premium.
