Design Guidelines: Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing

Direct to Garment (DTG) prints your design straight onto the fabric, like an inkjet printer for clothing. It’s ideal for detailed, full-colour artwork.

File requirements

• Format: PNG with a transparent background
• Resolution: 300 PPI at print size
• Colour mode: RGB (converted to CMYK automatically in production)
• Maximum print area: 32 × 50 cm
• Minimum text size: 10pt

Tips for the best result

• Use a transparent background so the garment colour shows through — add a solid background only if you want a printed block of colour
• Light or white artwork shows best on dark garments; pale tones may disappear on white garments
• Keep fine details and thin lines crisp and above the 10pt threshold so they don’t fade with wear
